mental performance consulting for athletes, teams, parents and coaches
about the name
F- FRAMEWORK
A framework provides structure without rigidity. Rather than offering a single technique or quick fix, FINS gives athletes a system for understanding themselves, making sense of challenges, and approaching performance with purpose. Through services such as: group workshops, individual consultation, and parent education, FINS serves as a guide for awareness, reflection, decision-making, and growth.
I- iNTENTIONAL
Intentional means acting with purpose before, during, and after performance. In sport, athletes cannot control every situation they encounter, but they can proactively prepare through reflection, skill development, and mental training. Through consistent and deliberate practice, these responses become more automatic under pressure. Rather than reacting impulsively, intentional athletes develop habits, skills, and ways of thinking that allow them to respond effectively when challenges arise while staying connected to what is most important in the moment.
N- nAVIGATION
Navigation is the ability to effectively move through the challenges, opportunities, and transitions that occur throughout a Human & athlete's journey. This includes navigating wins and losses, pressure and adversity, as well as developmental phases such as youth sport, specialization, recruitment, injury, role changes, and transitions between teams or levels of competition. FINS helps athletes develop the awareness and skills to adapt, adjust, and continue moving forward as both performers and people. Navigation is depicted within the topographic design of the fin logo.
S- sPORT
Sport is the context that brings us together. Whether your performance domain involves individual competition, team dynamics, or any environment in between, sport provides a unique space filled with both opportunity and challenge. It can be a source of achievement, connection, adversity, growth, and empowerment, and in the same way, a source of existential struggle. Beyond performance, sport serves as a vehicle for the development of character, relationships, confidence, and personal identity. The lessons gained through intentional navigation often extend far beyond competition into school, work, leadership, and life.
